Where did you grow up?
Tell us about your family:
I met my husband Mike when I was 13, we married 7 years later. We live in Amsterdam in the same home where we raised our two children, Daniel and Alecia. Even though they live out on their own now, our home is never short on love as we have 2 dogs - Tobie and Willow and 4 cats - Ava, Jagger, Tess and Sofie to keep us company.
Do you have any Hobbies?
8 years ago, I decided to take my love for pets and graphic design and turn it into a side business that not only helps pets get noticed and adopted, but also helps area businesses get noticed too. My husband and I design and distribute placemats and magazines for our business, Creativity Unleashed. I like to answer this question this way because there is never a time when I am working on helping shelter pets get adopted that it feels like work. Therefore, it is a hobby that I thoroughly enjoy! The other thing I truly love to do is spend time at the Great Sacandaga Lake. We have some great memories there, as our family had a camp there for 40 years. Now, we enjoy going to Northampton for a day whenever we can to enjoy the sunshine and play cornhole.
How long have you worked in Real Estate?
I obtained my real estate license in October of 2018
What did you do before you got into Real Estate? How did this prepare you for Real Estate (if at all)?
Before I got into Real Estate, I worked at various newspapers doing graphic design. After leaving a job I held for almost 20 years due to downsizing, I stayed out of work for a bit to build our business up. After a few years, I realized, that our business was truly a hobby, and I needed to work somewhere. I tried out a few different things, sub-aide at area schools and even working in a daycare for a bit. I wanted to do something different from what I had done for so many years. When I saw the job for Inglenook Realty Inc. posted, it seemed perfect for me. I did not expect to get my license, but with Kathy and Bob's and encouragement, I went for it and worked really hard for the next 6 months to get it. When I found out I had passed that test it was a proud moment for me! Since my husband and I are often out and about talking with people about our business, we can say we have gained many friends over the past 8 years. Having the business has really helped prepare me for my position as a real estate agent. It put me in contact via email and face to face with many people and got me out of my "behind the computer" shell. We have some amazing people in our area and I would be so grateful to get the chance to help them upsize, downsize, or find their perfect home.
Why did you get in to selling Real Estate?
It was a natural next step in addition to being the Administrative Assistant at Inglenook, and of course Kathy and Bob played a huge role in it happening. Having my license allows me to not only to have my own clients, but also allows me to be helpful to our entire team when or if they need me to step in and help them in any way.
My favorite thing about Real Estate is................
The relief on the owner's face, when a home being sold closes or the joy and anticipation for the future when an offer gets accepted.
Do you have a specialty in a certain area. Are there certain properties you enjoy selling more than others?
No specialty yet and that is ok, I love when there is something to aspire to!

The ability to understand what it means to Live Simply and Remain Grateful
What is the most Challenging/Gratifying Aspect of What you do?
Knowing that I may have had a small, yet positive part in shaping someone's future
What are the top 4 things you feel separate you from the competition?
My heart is always in the right place • My perseverance will pay off for you • Honesty and hard work are no strangers to me • If I am in a bad mood, you most likely will never know it.
What is the one tip you would have for someone looking to buy a home?
I see this all the time on the home shows - you can always change a home's features, etc but you cannot change where the home is, so choose wisely based on "where" you see yourself living for a while and take your time with the inside of the home. After all, isn't that the fun part?
Why should someone choose you as their Real Estate agent?
Number one, if you don't laugh with me, you are going to laugh at me at some point. I can guarantee you that you will get straight answers from me on anything you ask, I don't beat around the bush. If I don't know the answer, I will reach out to any one of the amazing people who work with me at Inglenook Realty Inc. and I already know they are ready, willing and able to help me (and you) get the job done!

So easy, Mike and I would live in a tiny section of the house so we could foster senior pets in the rest of the house and they would have it made (but we would benefit the most).
Who or what is your inspiration?
Helen Keller - since I was young, I have always admired her incredible strength while facing what most of us would call insurmountable adversity. I have a tattered old paperback book about her life. If she can learn to read and write, what holds any of us back from anything we strive for?
