Bonnie Dunleavy
NYS Licensed Real Estate Salesperson
Where did you grow up?
Colton-Pierrepont, NY

Tell us about your family:
My husband is Craig Dunleavy and we have been married 30 years, and I always tell people he is like fine wine, he gets better and better with age.  We have two amazing children, Kyle age 24 and Casey age 20. Kyle works with my husband in the 'car' business and Casey is enjoying her second year at SUNY Plattsburgh.  Our family has been living in the Galway area since 1995 and we truly love it here.

Do you have any Hobbies?
When I am not doing Real Estate, I love to build furniture and lighting from salvaged materials, and I enjoy making aprons from vintage linens and other textiles.

How long have you worked in Real Estate? I am a 'newbie' and loving every minute of the learning process.  When I decided to get into the Real Estate field, I never had a doubt who I wanted to work for.  Inglenook Realty was an obvious choice because I knew the Gordons and knew how authentic they were.  I knew I would be trained well, thoroughly mentored and given the grace to succeed.

What did you do before you got into Real Estate? How did this prepare you for Real Estate (if at all)? I was many things, but most recently I owned a small shop called Salvage Flair where I sold furniture, lighting and other home goods I designed and made from salvage. I decided to close my store and focus on my custom projects, as well as creating new pieces I would bring to a select few shows.

Why did you get in to selling Real Estate? After closing my store, I really missed working with people.  I wanted to do something that would also serve my community in a positive way.  Others in the real estate field had been encouraging me to give it a try, and after some careful consideration, I jumped in.  I had no idea I would love it so much.

My favorite thing about Real Estate is................
Being able to serve.  I honestly want to be 'that' Real Estate Agent everybody desires, the person they trust to work hard so they don't have to.

Do you have a specialty in a certain area. Are there certain properties you enjoy selling more than others? There isn't a property I don't want to sell...as long as I don't have to worry about snakes.  Honestly, tall grass and sandles in the middle of summer?  I would need back up for sure.

I have accomplished? My proudest accomplishment is the two children my husband and I raised.  Kyle and Casey are amazing young adults and nothing in this world will ever make me more proud!

What is the most Challenging/Gratifying Aspect of What you do?Doing it right.  Listing a property for a client and being their best advocate.   Working with a buyer, and finding exactly what they are looking for at a price they can afford, and a place they can call home.

What are the top 4 things you feel separate you from the competition? I work under one of the best Brokers in the field who has taken a personal interest in seeing me trained and mentored properly leaving no detail behind.      My personal integrity is something I cherish and will never compromise and will serve my clients with the same proclivity.   I work at one pace, tenacious and determined.  And finally, I always extend grace, believing the best first.

What is the one tip you would have for someone looking to buy a home?Make a list of all the things important to you when deciding to purchase, and then prioritize your list.  Get a headstart and meet with your choice lender to get yourself prequalified, that way you have a solid budget to work with.  And who knows, maybe you can add a couple more things to your list, or maybe you will have to compromise on some things.  Either way, you have a foundational beginning.

Why should someone choose you as their Real Estate agent? I will work had for my clients so they don't have to. I will be their greatest ally.

Do you have any awards or designations/certifications? I hold an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education and upon graduation, I was honored with the Highest Achievement Award.
